Abstract

In the early 2020´s, many higher education institutions around the world faced real challenges to continue the professional training of their students due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At the beginning of 2022, when the risk of the pandemic decreased and with the return to face-to-face classes, educational institutions took preventive measures to prevent the spread of the virus. This paper presents a web application to control the attendance of students and visitors who entered the facilities of one of the campuses of the Autonomous University of Yucatan. As part of the methodology of this report, due to the nature of the proposed system, Web Engineering was implemented for its construction. As a result, the development of a web application identified as Secure Assistance System was obtained, whose objective was, in addition to managing and administering secure attendance, it also allowed the tracking of the trajectory of visitors during their stay on campus. The web application was subjected to a validation process, including a first usability evaluation, the results obtained were higher than 9 points on a scale from 0 to 10, this means that a web application was developed, where in addition to complying with the main objective, it is also an agile tool, easy to use and navigate within it.
