Síntesis y Aplicaciones Biomédicas de Compósitos en Estado Hidrogel Empleando como Relleno Estructuras Organometálicas (MOFs)

Resumen

Los hidrogeles poseen una estructura tridimensional de cadenas poliméricas compuestas de grupos terminales hidrofílicos capaces de retener una gran cantidad de agua, lo que los hace mecánicamente inestables. Una manera de mejorar sus propiedades mecánicas es el uso de rellenos inorgánicos, dentro de este tipo de rellenos se tiene a las estructuras organometálicas (MOFs) que son polímeros de coordinación compuestos de iones metálicos y ligandos orgánicos, con una alta estabilidad térmica, gran área superficial y propiedades bactericidas debido a la presencia de iones metálicos. Estas características pueden combinarse con las de los hidrogeles al sintetizar sus compósitos para modular propiedades como resistencia mecánica, capacidad antimicrobiana, velocidad de degradación, capacidad de adsorción de fármacos y la modulación del metabolismo celular presente en la curación de tejido; atributos indispensables para sus aplicaciones biomédicas. Por lo que en esta revisión bibliográfica se discutirán ampliamente las propiedades de los MOFs, la síntesis y aplicaciones biomédicas de sus compósitos en estado hidrogel.
