Impacto ambiental de la industria textil y estrategias sostenibles para su mitigación

La industria textil ha evolucionado desde el uso de fibras naturales hasta la producción masiva de fibras sintéticas. La moda rápida ha intensificado el consumo y desecho de prendas, contribuyendo a la contaminación del agua, suelo y aire. Entre los problemas más críticos se encuentran la contaminación por microfibras, el uso de químicos en los procesos textiles y la acumulación de residuos, lo que ha generado graves impactos ambientales. El reciclaje textil y el uso de biopolímeros se presentan como soluciones viables, aunque enfrentan desafíos como la complejidad en la separación de materiales y la falta de infraestructura. La economía circular surge como una estrategia clave para reducir el desperdicio a través del reciclaje, la reutilización y modelos de negocio sostenibles como la reventa y el alquiler de prendas. Para lograr un impacto positivo es fundamental la cooperación entre consumidores, industria y gobiernos mediante educación, innovación tecnológica y políticas ambientales.
