Food and nutrition security is constantly improving for the benefit of the population. One way to carry it out is through the improvement of agricultural practices, managing to increase the quality of the fruits that are collected, etc. A method that has been attractive and low cost is through the characterization of the electrical signal generated by the plants, to later associate it with the effects of stress that are caused in the plants. This preliminary study aims to characterize the electrical signal of a strawberry plant by using Fourier series and Arduino. In this work, the extracellular measurement technique was used to characterize the response of a strawberry plant. Therefore, it was necessary to develop a low-cost measurement system based on the arduino data acquisition board. For the electrical signal amplification system, the LM358P amplifier was used. Among the main preliminary results of this work, it was found that the strawberry plant has a low electrical signal and that it should be studied by numerical analysis. However, it has a definite response when stimulated with different frequencies. This type of study will allow, in the medium term, to improve the production of strawberry plants through the stimulation of electrical signals.
