Resumen

Con el creciente interés en la búsqueda de nuevos materiales avanzados que muestren una amplia variedad de aplicaciones, han surgido investigaciones sobre geles metal-orgánicos (GMO). Esto debido a su estructura porosa, gran área superficial especifica y la forma en que se pueden modificar o modular para exhibir estructuras porosas. Existen distintas estrategias para la incorporación de metales en geles supramoleculares, basando sus diseños en organogeladores, incluyendo la incorporación de organogeladores de bajo peso molecular y polímeros de coordinación o MOF. La revisión de este artículo se centra en las potenciales aplicaciones en el campo médico, farmacéutico, catálisis y detección de moléculas. Aprovechando sus propiedades luminiscentes y de autocuración.
