About the Journal
Sekkan is a journal dedicated to publishing works that weave interdisciplinary connections between the social sciences and the humanities. In this regard, it publishes texts derived from anthropology, political science, sociology, urban studies, geography, history, pedagogy, social work, social psychology, law, architecture, economics, language, discourse, and communication studies, as well as joint discussions among these fields.
It is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that follows a double-blind review process and is published by the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila. The journal is committed to disseminating knowledge produced with methodological and theoretical rigor. Its medium-term goal is to become an international platform where relevant research is shared, emerging from both theoretical and empirical reflections with disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and social relevance. The journal aims to foster dialogue around classical and contemporary issues in the social sciences and humanities.
Content is published in Spanish and is available in digital, open-access format. Sekkan enforces an anti-plagiarism policy. It does not charge publication fees. The journal receives and publishes research articles, book reviews, and research notes. Its editorial and dissemination processes adhere to an internationally recognized code of ethics.
Sekkan is intended for researchers, undergraduate and graduate students in the social sciences and humanities, and all individuals interested in analyzing social issues through solid theoretical, empirical, and methodological foundations.
Sekkan, a word that means "together" in Náhuatl, was chosen as the name of the journal to reflect one of the core pillars of knowledge creation: collaboration with others who offer different perspectives to enrich our own.
