Abstract

Breast cancer originates when breast tissue cells begin to grow in an uncontrolled manner promoted by the transformation of cells unable to control their growth. Triple-negative breast cancer is defined as an "immunohistochemical state with heterogeneous biology and clinical behavior", with absence of estrogen, progesterone and human epidermal growth receptor (HER/B2) expression. The objective is to bioinformatically identify potential gene targets associated with my therapeutic microRNAs in triple-negative breast cancer.

In the methodology the following databases were used: microRNA-Segse where samples of triple negative breast cancer publicly available in GEO were downloaded, quality control was performed using the FASTQCv 0.11.9 database, for rapid quantification of mapping the miRBase database was consulted and finally the identification of microRNAs was performed with ViennaRNA 1.8.4 using as a filter for differential expression of p < 0.05 to obtain more relevant data. A total of 29 microRNA-Seq samples were obtained and then the differential expression between pairs of conditions was carried out, finding 60 microRNAs of interest, which were chosen using the criteria of variation between groups and FDR < 0.05 where 20 microRNAs associated with triple negative breast cancer were identified and the analysis was focused on the top 5 of the microRNAs associated with triple negative breast cancer and the analysis was focused on the top 5 of the microRNAs associated with triple negative breast cancer.

In the near future the treatment of women with triple negative breast cancer may be accompanied by innovative therapies such as microRNAs, so that women with cancer can have personalized care, thus improving their quality of life.
