Guidelines for authors
- Submission of manuscripts
- Submission channels: Manuscripts may be submitted through the journal's OJS platform or, alternatively, sent directly to the official email address: revista.icdh@academiaidh.org.mx
- Manuscript formats and submission: The main text of the work must be submitted exclusively in an editable Word format (.doc or .docx).
- Guarantee of anonymity: To ensure impartiality during the evaluation, manuscripts intended for the doctrinal articles section must not include names, institutional affiliations, acknowledgments, or metadata that could identify the authors within the body of the text or the file properties.
- Ethical and legal declarations: During the submission process on the platform or via the official email, authors must mandatorily present the "Declaration of originality, ethical integrity, and publication license", which certifies:
- The originality and exclusivity of the manuscript.
- Authorship and respect for intellectual property rights.
- The first publication license and the Creative Commons licensing.
- The research ethics statement and protection of sensitive data.
- The declaration of absence or existence of conflicts of interest.
- The explicit declaration regarding the use of artificial intelligence tools.
- The contributor roles taxonomy.
- Manuscript structure
The internal organization of the text depends on the section to which it is submitted:
- Doctrinal articles: They must mandatorily include the title, an analytical abstract in both spanish and english (maximum 200 words each, detailing the objective, methodology, and conclusions), as well as 3 to 5 keywords in both languages (separated by semicolons). The formal structure of introduction, methodology/development, conclusions, and references is suggested for the body of the text.
- Other typologies (essays, commentaries, notes, and reviews): They do not require abstracts, translations of titles, or keywords. Their internal structure is free and flexible; they must begin directly with the title in the original language, followed by the development of the content, and, if applicable, their list of references at the end.
- Format, typography, and style
- Typography and size: Didot font at 12 points for the main body text.
- Margins and alignment: Top and bottom margins of 2.0 cm; left and right margins of 2.5 cm. Text must be fully justified.
- Line spacing and paragraphing: Single-spaced text. A first-line indent of 0.5 cm for each paragraph. A 10-point spacing after paragraphs to optimize readability.
- Footnotes: They must be used exclusively for clarifications, complementary comments, or for the publication's reference and citation system. The text must be in Didot font at 10 points, justified, single-spaced, with no indentation, and with no spacing between footnotes.
- Use of italics: Limited to words requiring emphasis, foreign language terms, brand or company names, and the names of analyzed judicial cases or court rulings.
- Use of small caps: Small caps must be used mandatorily for all abbreviations and acronyms within the text.
- Internal subdivisions (paragraph hierarchy): To structure complex ideas with multiple levels within the same section, an additional 0.5 cm indent relative to the previous level will be applied according to the following scheme:
- First level: Arabic numerals with a closing parenthesis: 1), 2), 3)... (0.5 cm first-line indent and 0.5 cm left indent).
- Second level: Lowercase letters with a closing parenthesis: a), b), c)... (0.5 cm first-line indent and 1.0 cm left indent).
- Third level: Lowercase Roman numerals with a closing parenthesis: i), ii), iii)... (0.5 cm first-line indent and 1.5 cm left indent).
- References and citation system
- Bibliographical accuracy: The reference list at the end of the document must strictly and exclusively include sources that have been explicitly cited within the body of the text.
- Citation style: Citations and the bibliography of submitted manuscripts must rigorously comply with the "Editorial guidelines of the Revista Internacional & Comparada de Derechos Humanos".
- Inclusion of DOI: It is mandatory to include the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) link in full URL format at the end of each bibliographical reference that has this registry.
