This section constitutes the distinctive part of the International & Comparative Journal of Human Rights. It includes academically rigorous doctrinal articles that address the journal’s core and specific topics, focusing on the study of human rights from an international and comparative perspective. In order to determine their publication, submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process in accordance with strict academic standards. Approximate length: 7,000 to 15,000 words.
Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
When initiating the submission process, authors must confirm that their manuscript strictly complies with the following general requirements:
- Originality: The manuscript is unpublished, has not been previously published, and is not currently under review by another journal.
- Section specifications: The text strictly adheres to the word count, document type, and anonymity requirements for review (as in the case of doctrinal articles) defined in the specific characteristics of the selected section.
- File format: The main document is submitted exclusively in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
- Required documentation: The “Declaration of Originality, Ethical Integrity, and Publication License” form, signed by all contributors, is attached.
- Citation guidelines: All bibliographic references have been verified, are complete, and strictly follow the official citation format and style established in the “Editorial Guidelines of the International & Comparative Journal of Human Rights.”
- Graphic elements: Tables, graphs, diagrams, or images are incorporated directly into the body of the text with their respective source or an explicit statement of authorship.
- Third-party permissions: Legal or institutional authorization has been obtained to publish any additional copyrighted material.
Doctrinal article
Essays
This section features texts in which the authors analyze, reflect upon, interpret, and evaluate various human rights issues from different perspectives through the essay genre. Approximate length: 4,000 to 7,500 words.
Regulatory and jurisprudential comments
This section contains reasoning derived from the analysis of legal norms and judicial decisions that present relevant or novel criteria related to human rights from national, international, and comparative perspectives. Approximate length: 2,500 to 3,500 words.
Notes
This section contains texts that reflect on and analyze relevant contemporary issues related to human rights from a national, international, and comparative perspective. Approximate length: 1,500 to 2,000 words.
Bibliographic reviews
This section consists of summaries that report on the content, contribution, and significance of legally and academically relevant works on human rights—whether recently published or previously edited and regarded as essential to the themes addressed by this journal. Approximate length: 500 to 1,500 words.
Copyright Notice
When submitting a manuscript to the International & Comparative Journal of Human Rights, authors:
- Guarantee that the submission is an unpublished work and has not been published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.
- Retain copyright in their work but grant the journal the right of first publication.
- Agree to have their work published under an open-access license (Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International), which allows the content to be shared and adapted provided that authorship is acknowledged and the work is not used for commercial purposes.
- They may enter into other non-exclusive distribution agreements for the published version (for example, depositing it in institutional repositories or including it in books), provided that the initial publication in this journal is clearly indicated.
- They guarantee that they have the necessary permissions to reproduce any additional material (images, data, archival documents) included in the submission.
- They agree to uphold the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and ethical responsibility in the production and dissemination of their work.

Los datos personales que voluntariamente proporciona a esta Máxima Casa de Estudios de forma electrónica o personal, serán recabados, protegidos, incorporados y tratados en el Sistema de Datos Personales de esta Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila, ubicada en Boulevard Venustiano Carranza sin número, con fundamento en la Ley de Acceso a la Información Pública y Protección de Datos Personales para el Estado de Coahuila de Zaragoza.
