Abstract

Transnational judicial communication (TJC), understood as the voluntary judicial application of foreign law in purely domestic matters, is a tool that enables judges to issue more robust rulings that foster the development of a global legal system. In an era when countries are interconnected through the internet, social media, and the global market, national law cannot lag behind and continue to ignore the standards emerging in other parts of the world, especially when it comes to the broadest protection of human rights.

For this reason, the book Transnational Judicial Communication. Doctrinal Frameworks, Institutional Dynamics, and Empirical Evidence from the Swiss Federal Tribunal and Beyond, by Italian author Micol Ferrario, is of utmost relevance and timeliness for understanding the implementation of transnational judicial communication and its implications. This book is the result of the author’s research conducted to earn her Ph.D. at the University of Neuchâtel. We can therefore affirm that it was produced with methodological and scientific rigor.
