Privacy policy
The Revista Internacional & Comparada de Derechos Humanos is edited by the Academia Interamericana de Derechos Humanos of the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila, which is the entity responsible for the safeguarding and processing of personal data provided by authors, reviewers, and readers of the journal.
- Personal data collected
To comply with the processes of scientific publishing, international indexing, and digital distribution, the journal collects the following data:
- From authors: Full name, signature, email address, telephone number, institutional affiliation (corporate alignment), country, and the international ORCID identifier.
- From reviewers: Full name, signature, email address, institutional affiliation, country, ORCID, and specific areas of expertise.
- From readers (registered users on the journal’s website): Username, email address, and institutional affiliation (optional).
Note on Sensitive Data: In strict compliance with publishing best practices, the journal does not request nor will it subject to processing any type of sensitive personal data (such as ethnic origin, health status, political opinions, or religious convictions). Field research involving third-party testimonies is the sole responsibility of the author and must be governed under their own informed consent.
- Legal basis
The processing of personal data is conducted in strict compliance with articles 20, 21, and 22 of the Ley General de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de Sujetos Obligados; articles 90 and 91 of the Ley de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de Sujetos Obligados del Estado de Coahuila de Zaragoza; as well as the current transparency regulations of the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila.
- Purposes of data processing
Primary purposes (Do not require explicit consent):
- Editorial management: Managing the processes of reception, technical review, peer review, copyediting, and publication of manuscripts through the OJS platform or via the official email address: revista.icdh@academiaidh.org.mx.
- Guarantee of anonymity: Safeguarding identities within the signed declarations to protect the integrity of the double-blind evaluation system.
- Indexing and visibility: Transmitting the metadata of published articles (author names, ORCID, and affiliation) to international indexes, directories, and databases to ensure the dissemination of the manuscript.
- Accreditation: Issuing official certificates to reviewers and authors participating in each volume.
Secondary purposes (require consent):
- Subscriptions and notifications: Sending automated electronic alerts informing about the publication of new issues or calls for papers from the journal.
Note: Refusal to allow the use of your data for these secondary purposes will not prevent the evaluation or publication of your contributions.
- Transfer of personal data
Your personal data may be subject to transfer under the following frameworks:
- Mandatory internal transfers (without consent): To the Transparency Unit or administrative control instances of the UAdeC solely for purposes of fiscal oversight or institutional reviews legally required.
- International editorial transfers (implicit in publication): By operating under an Open Access model, authorship data linked to the published texts (affiliation, ORCID, and name) will be publicly disseminated globally on a permanent basis to allow the citation of the work.
- ARCO rights
You have the right to access, rectify, cancel, or oppose the processing of your personal data. To initiate this procedure, you may submit a written request to the journal's Editorial Coordination via the official email address: revista.icdh@academiaidh.org.mx. Once this is done, the journal will forward the request to the UAdeC Transparency Unit for further processing.
