1. Editorial Principles

The journal promotes the publication of original research, academic reviews, case reports, and scientific, social, and humanistic essays that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and to addressing issues of regional, national, and international relevance.
Editorial processes are conducted under the principles of impartiality, confidentiality, objectivity, academic respect, inclusion, and scientific responsibility.
2. Editorial Ethics
Sekkan adopts good practices in scientific, social, and humanistic publishing aimed at ensuring intellectual honesty, editorial transparency, and academic integrity.
Authors, reviewers, and members of the editorial team shall act in accordance with ethical principles that ensure the originality of works, proper attribution of authorship, respect for the rights of third parties, and the responsible communication of research results.
Editorial decisions are based exclusively on the academic quality, thematic relevance, methodological rigor, and scientific or humanistic contribution of the manuscripts received.
3. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors guarantee that the manuscripts submitted for evaluation are original, unpublished, and are not simultaneously under review or in the process of publication in another journal.
They are also responsible for the accuracy of the data presented, the proper citation of the sources used, and compliance with the ethical principles applicable to the research conducted.
All individuals listed as authors must have made a significant contribution to the preparation of the submitted work.
4. Conflicts of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and members of the editorial team must declare any personal, professional, institutional, or financial situation that could influence the evaluation, interpretation, or publication of a manuscript.
When a potential conflict of interest is identified, the journal may adopt the necessary measures to preserve the impartiality and transparency of the editorial process.
5. Originality and Similarity Detection
All manuscripts received are reviewed using similarity-detection tools before the academic peer-review process begins.
The identification of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, manipulation of information, or any practice contrary to academic integrity shall constitute grounds for editorial rejection.
The journal may request clarifications or supplementary documentation when reasonable doubts arise regarding the originality of the submitted work.
6. Peer Review
All manuscripts that meet the editorial requirements are submitted to academic peer review under a double-blind modality.
The identity of authors and reviewers remains confidential throughout the evaluation process.
Reviewers are selected based on their disciplinary expertise, academic record, and absence of conflicts of interest.
When the reports present substantial discrepancies, the manuscript may be sent for additional evaluation by a third specialist.
Editorial decisions are based exclusively on academic, scientific, and methodological criteria.
7. Corrections, Clarifications, and Retractions
When relevant errors are detected that affect the interpretation, reliability, or integrity of a published work, the journal may issue corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern, or retractions.
The corresponding decisions shall be made by the Editorial Committee on the basis of documented evidence and while ensuring the right of the parties involved to be heard.
Any modification made after publication shall be publicly recorded in order to preserve the integrity of the academic record.
8. Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
Generative artificial intelligence tools may not be recognized as authors of manuscripts.
Authors must declare the use of artificial intelligence tools when such tools have contributed significantly to the writing, analysis, or generation of content included in the work.
Responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the published content rests exclusively with the human authors.
9. Open Access
Sekkan provides immediate, free, and permanent open access to all its content, with no consultation fees for readers and no processing or publication charges for authors.
The journal promotes the free circulation of scientific and humanistic knowledge as a public good and supports its consultation, download, distribution, and use for academic and educational purposes in accordance with the corresponding license.
